Create Unforgettable Moments on the ocean in Waikiki: As Seen on KHON2’s Get Chance with Tumua

When Local TV Said “Yes” to HILINA’I

There’s a particular kind of magic that happens when a moment is so authentic that a television crew can’t help but capture it. That’s what happened when KHON2’s already beloved dating series, Get Chance with Tumua, featured MANA Cruises’ luxury catamaran in Waikiki:The HILINA’I.

In that episode, strangers shared stories over the water, felt the trade winds on their faces, and experienced exactly what thousands come to MANA for: a moment that feels both intimate and unforgettable. HILINA’I became more than just a boat—she became a backdrop for real connection.

If you watched that episode, you might’ve wondered: Can I have a moment like that on HILINA’I too?

The short answer is yes!

What Is HILINA’I?

HILINA’I is our 43-foot Leopard Power Catamaran, departing from the Ala Wai Boat Harbor in Waikiki. HILINA’I means to trust or to believe, and she is MANA‘s premier Waikiki offering. When you step aboard, we hope to make you feel right at home – with Hawaiian Hospitality.

Why HILINA’I Steals Hearts

The Design Speaks Luxury Without Effort

HILINA’I’s dual-hull catamaran design means she glides across the ocean with a gentle, confident motion—not the rock-and-sway of traditional sailboats. The open deck is perfect for watching sunsets, photographing the moment, or sitting in comfortable silence as the Waianae Mountains fade into gold.

It Feels Personal

Unlike mega-cruise ships or even the 80 person catamaran cruises, HILINA’I feels intimate. Your captain knows your name. The crew anticipates your needs. That’s what the TV crews noticed + shared: authentic care, not a script.

Amenities Built for Your Moment

  • Hosted bar: Premium beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic options
  • Gourmet catering: Local chefs, upscale Hawaiian menus
  • Professional fishing tackle: Penn & Shimano equipment
  • Professional Snorkeling gear: Included for ocean adventures

The HILINA’I Experience

Sunset Sails from Waikiki

Board around 4:30-5 p.m. (depending on the season), settle into on of the bean bags on deck with a drink, and watch the sun set while Waikiki’s city lights twinkle behind you. On a shared Exclusive Snorkel + Lunch, Our New Couples Snorkel Retreat, or a Captain’s Sunset + Tasting, you might strike up conversations with travelers from around the world. On a private charter, it’s just your people and your moment.

Private Dinners on the Water

Customize the menu, control the music, all on your own with those who matter most. Proposals happen on HILINA’I. Anniversaries. Family reunions. Some guests anchor off quiet beaches and snorkel at sunset; others cruise along the coast over a three-course meal.

FAQ: What You Need to Know

Is HILINA’I only for couples?

Not at all. While perfect for engagements and anniversaries, we regularly host couples, families, family reunions, milestones + birthdays, small corporate events and more. Customizable, making the possibilities endless!

What’s the difference between shared and private?

Shared sails ($150–200 per person) are scheduled group experiences. You board with others and return by sunset. Private charters ($1,600–3,200+) mean HILINA’I is entirely yours—you choose the route, timeline, meals, and activities.

Do I need any boating experience?

Zero necessary. Our captains are seasoned professionals. You’re on vacation: your job is to relax and enjoy.

What’s the best time to charter?

Year-round! Summer offers warmer waters in Waikiki, possibly large swells for great surfing! Winter (December–April) is whale season and normally brings with it calmer seas in Waikiki. Spring and fall bring fewer crowds to Hawaii over-all but may find that it sun-showers a little more often, or there might be a random Squall.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. Both Shared + Private charters include customizable menus for vegan, gluten-free, and allergy needs.  Please just reach out to us and notify us ahead of time.

Is HILINA’I accessible for mobility concerns?

She has stable deck access and spacious cabins, but there are steps and rocking motion. Call us at (808) 664-1164 to discuss your specific needs.
